Nov 10: The stories of our nervous system
Our nervous system is a guide to everything else and tells a story of why and how we react in certain ways to different emotions.
Understanding what goes on in our nervous system, and why some of us feel physical sensations, or have thoughts when feeling stress, worry or for some people anxious can be really empowering & liberating.
There are a lot of simple things we can do to alter the state of our nervous system. Breathing, moving, changing posture & using our senses all support us towards a calmer state.
When
Sunday, November 10th
10:00 - 11am PST (Vancouver)
1:00 - 2pm EST (New York)
6:00 - 7pm GMT (London)
During this session:
- We will do a combination of grounding exercises (such as moving gently, rocking, tapping). This includes gentle face massage.
- Integrate simple & manageable body scans & and longer guided rest which gives us clues and raises awareness of what’s happening in our body during different states of stress or relaxation.
- We will apply curiousity during gentle posture work that includes somatic breathing and soothing yoga (all done whilst seated). Some writing (optional). These methods can support overall wellbeing and nervous system health.
Please bring:
Several blankets, pillows & cushions so that you can be super comfortable during the period of rest.
You will also need face oil or cream which will provide enough slip and glide.
A notebook / paper / pen - for reflection.
