Apr 28: Inviting better sleep
Sleep can be so elusive for some.
Atifa Ismailmiya-Balding is a recovering insomniac, and she has spent years tinkering with her own sleep journey to make it better for herself which includes regular napping! Napping works wonders for promoting a relaxed nervous system.
Regular self-care and preparing for sleep from the moment she wakes up is how Ati has managed to make sleep her friend rather than a foe.
During this session you will:
- be shown manageable techniques that help aid better sleep. Ati will guide you through an automatic thought writing exercise (also known as free writing) which can help unfollow thoughts and declutter the mind in readiness for bedtime. Please note that you do not have to be a writer to do this, the exercise is short and can also be done without writing.
- practice a guided hand and face massage which is specially targeted to deeply relax the facial muscles.
- apply gentle release pressure to parts of the body which will relax the nervous system.
- be guided to rest with a long muscle relaxation. You willalso find (in the library) further audio and video recordings by Ati which will aid rest and better sleep and rest.
