Teaching Yoga Online Q+A Replay

Thank you so much for joining me! The replay is at the bottom of the page.

What a fun workshop with so many great questions. In the end, we extended the workshop a little longer than planned because there were so many great questions. And that's some of the magic of teaching online, you can record the classes, people can come and go as needed due to their schedules and yet you can still access the entire call with the replay.

Overview:

There are a lot of different topics and information in this workshop but the overall themes that emerged no matter the topic seemed to be this:

This is part of your yoga practice. If you experience fear, frustration, discomfort around any of these topics, then it's an opportunity to learn and explore more about yourself. Why do I get overwhelmed with social media? Why does it stress me out to put something out into the world? And so on...

Play the long game. Social media, building your customer base, knowing what to offer, and so much more, takes time. It takes experimenting and being open to trying different things and seeing what sticks. All these things take time to build, so trust in the process and trust in the timing.

Know your why. We all have different goals when it comes to teaching yoga and teaching yoga online. Being clear on why you are teaching, what you want to offer can help you stay in your lane and not compare yourself with others doing something different.

Be yourself. We've heard that a million times, often enough that we might discount it. But when we can trust the direction our heart is pointing and show up as who we are; in our classes, newsletters, emails, social media, then we can trust that we will find the people who are looking for our point of view.

Don't let numbers distract you. Relationships and trust are more important. While it might seem cool to have 100k followers on social media, if you have 20 people that follow you and love what you are doing, then that is what grows community and customers.

How to "sell" something without being sleazy.

This was one of the questions from the workshop and here's my version of that :)
