Because your hips love to move in a variety of ways! When you do hip stretches with a balance of strength and mobility, your hip joints become stronger and healthier.
But you won't find this approach in your average yoga class because most yoga tends to focus on getting "deep" into a pose, which might feel good in the moment but doesn't make a long-term difference for chronically tight hips.
