Mar 5: Anxiety & Wind element (+ perimenopause)

Wind element (Thai) or Vata in Ayurveda can be exacerbated as we meet midlife (think of anxiety as ungrounded thoughts, or the sense of being blown about by random gusts of thoughts and feelings).

This links to seasonal awareness, as autumn is there season of wind and perimenopause can be seen as our journey into inner 'wintering'. This can also apply to a seasonal approach to monthly cycles. We will explore how grounding body and mind in our foundations can reduce the pull of thoughts, feelings and physical sensations that take us out of the present. Using the philosophical tools of yoga to underpin clarity of mind in an embodied way. Not attaching to or over-identifying with thoughts and feelings as fixed identity can offer us the freedom from mental pulls.

The class will be embodied within grounding, somatic and meditative explorations that reconnect us with ourselves, our cycles and the earth.
